(IsraelNationalNews.com) Israeli security forces have arrested two suspects in the terrorist shooting murder of Greek Orthodox Monk Gur Pzipokatsatakis, 35, of Wadi Kelt, on June 12. He was killed near the IDF checkpoint in proximity of Maale Adumim in a drive-by shooting attack.

The suspects in custody, a 20 and 27-year-old from el-Azzariya, told interrogators that months ago they approached Tanzim terrorist leader Marwan Barghouti, telling him they wanted to participate in attacks. They were issued Kalashnikov AK-47 assault rifles.

The admitted to the shooting attack and added they planned additional attacks.

Responding to the report, Barghouti was quoted as saying that the news released by the GSS (General Security Service – Shin/Bet) was not true, adding that Israel was preparing to assassinate him and this was the laying of the groundwork prior to the attack.
