Defense Minister Naftali Bennett (Yamina) is holding an online press conference, fielding various questions and giving his opinion on the current situation in Israel.
When asked about the chances that his party will enter the unity government, he said, "We are not under the impression that they are on our side. We want to be part of the government, but they are putting the blame on us for demanding significant portfolios. The government that emerges from the coalition negotiations will not be a simple one, and at the moment, it does not seem likely that we will be part of it.
"The way to get the economy up and running again is to give it an 'economic electric shock,'" he added. "I don't see how people who grew up in the Histadrut Labor Federation are going to be the ones who will get us out of this stranglehold. So, it seems likely that we'll end up in the opposition, although we will still support the government from outside on matters we agree with, while opposing it on matters where we don't see eye to eye."
