About 90% of the students came to the five elementary schools operating in the Efrat Local Council this morning.

When the students arrived in grade one, the teachers and principals were waiting with a wide smile, making sure parents did not enter school grounds. The morning opened with a discussion between teaching staff and students and together they reviewed the new rules of behavior.

Mayor Oded Ravivi who visited the various schools said "Already before Passover, when the possibility of a gradual return to school after the holiday came up, we acted to disinfect the schools, and we later realized that there's a need to divide the classrooms and more. Local government is the executor of central government policy. The 90% student attendance is a vote of confidence in the local school system and teaching staff. I'm proud of parents who cooperate and understand those who are reluctant. We'll continue to do everything to get back to normal in the shadow of the coronavirus."
