The light rail continues to accelerate infrastructure projects in the current era when rail traffic was halted due to the coronavirus.

Having recently completed the electric infrastructure between Hahagana and Savidor, this morning a test run of the fast electric train was successfully conducted between the stations.

It was reported that this segment was scheduled to be completed in June this year, but the Railway and the Spanish Sami Company accelerated the process of forging and completed the infrastructure two months early. In coming weeks, the train will conduct a series of experimental trips in preparation for passenger travel.

The test drive was designed to conduct an initial inspection of the electrical infrastructure and to identify gaps for commercial operation of the line. Then passengers can enjoy direct, uninterrupted travel between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv Savidor Center.
