Senior members of the Yamina party have sharply attacked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the wake of reports that the party is likely to receive only one senior portfolio in the unity government currently being formed.

"Once again, Netanyahu stabs religious Zionism in the back. As always, Netanyahu abandons Yamina and relegates us to the end of the line - the same religious Zionism that has rescued him for the past year, and has always stood by him," senior right-wing officials said.

''Before the elections, he [Netanyahu] went to the Eli pre-army preparatory yeshiva [to curry for votes], and after the elections he sells out religious Zionism to the left and the ultra-Orthodox. This betrayal means the break-up of the right-wing bloc," the senior officials added, according to a report in Channel 12 News.
