UK death toll from coronavirus rises by nearly 250 in a single day

The UK's death toll from coronavirus rose from 759 to 1,019, for a rise of 260 in 24 hours, The Telegraph reported.

A total of 17,089 have tested positive for the virus, compared to 14,543 on Friday.
