The Health Ministry has not yet released its regular 8 am update on the the number of people who are infected with the coronavirus.
A ministry statement explained that the delay was due to a significant increase in the number of tests (more than 2200 tests yesterday and growing) and an increase in the number of laboratories (20) in which the tests were being conducted. A ministry spokesman added, "We will soon announce a number of up-to-date and verified patients as we have done throughout the crisis." As of 3 pm on Wednesday, 433 people had been infected.
