German chancelor Angela Merkel held a press conference Monday during which she asserted that "up to 70%" of all Germans may get infected with the coronavirus.
Merkel ordered the shutdown of all restaurants, bars, museums, theaters, and other mainstay local institutions including "brothels."
The German chancelor also announced the country would seal its borders with neighboring Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, France, and Luxemburg.
Over 8,600 people have contracted the virus and more than 20 deaths have been reported in Germany as of Tuesday, March 17th, 2020.
