Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon and Transportation Minister Bezalel Smotrich recently signed an order that reform in taxi tariffs will take effect on April 8th.
Under the reform, the inter-city price list will be canceled, "tariff 3" will be introduced on weekends, in-city prices will increase and travel outside a city will be reduced. The new order gives drivers an extension to update their meters, due to confusion created by election promises on the matter. Therefore, until next month, drivers will be allowed to use both tariff systems.
