Rabbi Elisha Wolfson has drawn attention to the principle demand of the anti-Zionist Joint List party: banning Jews from the Temple Mount. Blue and White, the second largest Zionist party, has reached out to the Joint List, whose members include supporters of terrorism, in an attempt to prop up a minority government. "Our politicians are ready to negotiate with those who have publicly declared their intention to make the Temple Mount their capital," Wolfson said and quoted Rabbi Yitzhak Nissim, former chief rabbi of Israel, who asserted that "preventing Jews from stepping on the Temple Mount will be interpreted as a loss of its belonging to us and as relinquishment of our sovereignty over it."
