A ban on visits to retirement homes has been issued by Ofir Akunis, Minister of Labor, Social Affairs, and Social Services. This has been done to prevent contact with visitors who may be carriers of the coronavirus. Individuals sixty years of age and older are most susceptible to the virus and retirement homes consist entirely of this population. Outside activities of retirement home residents are also being strictly limited since such activities also mean contact with potential carriers of the virus.
