Haaretz publisher Amos Schoken said, Thursday morning, "Israel is not the nation state of the Jewish people because it is also the state of two million non-Jews."
Schoken proposed, "The definition of the state in the law must therefore also be amended: 'A national home for the Jewish people and the state of its Jewish and non-Jewish citizens in equal social and political rights.' This is the wording that rests with the Declaration of Independence.
