Idan Amari, Israeli actor and singer-songwriter, announced his participation in tomorrow's (Wednesday's) rally in Beersheba for the return of the remains of Hadar Goldin and Oron Shaul, killed in operation Protective Edge in Gaza in 2014. The rally will also demand the release of Abra Mengistu, who suffers from a mental disability and crossed over into Gaza along the coast five years ago.
"When I was around 18 years old," Amari recalled, "I heard that the Nazis put the words 'every man for himself' over the heads of those entering the Buchenwald concentration camp. This is the exact opposite of the expression that 'all Jews are responsible for one another,' a Midrash that has guided me in the choices I have made throughout my life."
