The Movement for Quality Government has announced that it will petition the Supreme Court to order the Permits Committee to reject Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's request to finance a loan for his legal defense against corruption charges.

Movement Chairman Eliad Shraga said that "after he deceived the Supreme Court and the Permits Committee, when he refused three times in a row to hand over documents to the committee, the prime minister is receiving a fourth chance from the same committee, whose founding rules state that its decision is final. This is a dangerous intrusion of foreign and political elements into a quasi-judicial body, and a further deterioration in the democratic characteristics of the State of Israel."
