The number of people confirmed as having died as a result of the coronavirus in China has risen to 1,367, Chinese officials reported, while the number of new infections rose by a whopping 14,840 in the Hubei province on Thursday.
A total of 60,000 people are now known to have been infected with the virus, nearly all of them in China.
