The first graduation ceremony for the training of Border Guard volunteers from the Shalva organization for developmentally-disabled adults was held Monday night at the Metzudat Adumim Base in Jerusalem.

The one-month course included physical and combat fitness classes, workshops to develop teamwork and achieve goals. The volunteers also received classes that include the professional content of police, medical, liaison and other work that mainstream Border Guard recruits undergo. They will serve as regular Border Patrol volunteers in combat support in various positions at the base, in the Border Dog Unit, the Israel Police Cavalry Unit, and in various other branches of the Corps.
