On Monday, the Finance Ministry approved the Public Security Ministry's purchase of a 2.3-million-shekel water control system that will be installed in the security wards in Israeli prisons, with the aim of combating the intentional waste of water by Palestinian Authority terrorists imprisoned in Israel, according to Yisrael Hayom.
In July 2018, the newspaper revealed that the imprisoned terrorists waste hundreds of thousands of cubic meters of water a year worth millions of shekels. According to Prisons Service data, while monthly water consumption per capita in Israel is about 5 cubic meters, the security prisoner's water consumption in 2019 was about 20.5 cubic meters.
