Water drilling initiated in Kedumim for Jews and Arabs

Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz inaugurated, Thursday morning, a new water drilling project at the entrance to the Samarian Jewish community of Kedumim, which aims to solve the water shortage in the area at a cost of about 22 million shekels.

The drilling is essential in view of the increase in demand and a decrease in water levels in other wells in the area. The depth of the drilling is about 700 meters and the pumping equipment is located at a depth of about 400 meters. The drilling operates at approximately 250 cubic meters per hour, and will supply water to Kedumim, Karnei Shomron, Shavei Shomron and Einav, as well as Palestinian Authority communities in the area.
