A senior Israeli official has told Channel 13 News that Monday's meeting between Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Chairman Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan of Sudan’s Sovereign Council in Uganda lasted two hours.
One of the issues discussed was the possibility for Israeli aircraft to receive clearance in Sudan's airspace to shorten flights from Israel to Latin America. The official says one of the Sudanese requests from Israel is to open doors in Washington and encourage the United States to remove Sudan from the terror list. Netanyahu raised the issue to Foreign Minister Pompeo during their meeting in Washington last week, and on Sunday, Pompeo called tBurhan and invited him to Washington next week.
