The Beit Shemesh municipality has launched a pilot program in which 35 public institutions in the city will generate electricity through solar panels on the roofs of 60 of their buildings, which are expected to lead to significant economic savings in the local authority's electricity expenditure, and to generate revenue from the sale of the electricity to the electric company.
