Retired colonel Shimon (Kacha) Kahaner of the mythical 101 paratrooper unit, who filled a series of positions in the Paratroop Brigade during the Six-Day and Yom Kippur Wars, has passed away at the age of 85.
He will be laid to rest in Kibbutz Neve Eitan on Thursday.
