Israel will take terror-victim compensation money from PA payments

Justice Minister Amir Ohana has ordered the Enforcement and Collection Authority to take 4.2 million shekels intended for the Palestinian Authority for payments awarded by courts to victims of eight terrorists convicted of the terrorist offenses of murder and attempted murder.

The taking of the money will be made against the salary paid by the PA to the terrorists every month, with the salary level being determined, among other things, by the number of years the prison inmate serves in jail. The decision to start now was made after PA representatives did not appear to a summons for interrogation by the Enforcement and Collection Authority, in addition to ignoring two warnings on a third-party foreclosure sent in November and early this month.
