The Georgia Honorary Consulate officially opened today in Jerusalem, in the presence of.Georgia President Salome Zourabichvili, Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon, Diaspora Minister Tzipi Hotovely and incoming Honorary Consul Yigal Amadi.
The mayor of Jerusalem said, "I am delighted and bless the President of Georgia for her arrival in Jerusalem, and for the longstanding partnership between the two nations. Almost two years ago, we celebrated the opening of the American Embassy in the city and now your turn has come, the Georgians, to upgrade the connection between our nations and transfer to Jerusalem the Georgian Embassy. I have no doubt that Yigal, the new honorary consul, will do much for both countries and the two peoples. I wish you every success. "
