The IDF ignored a female soldier's request to meet a military psychiatrist after trying to end her life by swallowing pills. The soldier, who was in a serious state of mind, requested a unit pass and alerted her commanders.
She met with two commanders, one of whom recommended transferring her unit, but her commander ignored the recommendation, Kan News reported.
The IDF Spokesman said: "The soldier received a full medical package suited to her needs. The dialog between the Mental Health Officer and the soldier's mother will be examined and lessons learned from it. Due to medical secrecy and individual privacy, we will not be able to expand on the matter. We emphasize that the case is recognized and handled by her direct officers."
