It has been disclosed that Border Guards foiled the theft of dozens of parrots from a farm in Midgal Haemek, with a total value of a million shekels, Sunday evening.

Acting on intelligence received during a monthlong investigation, the Border Guards stopped a stolen truck in which the birds were found. They arrested a Palestinian Authority resident who was without a permit to be in other parts of Israel and two eastern Jerusalem residents. On Monday, the Petach Tikva Magistrates Court extended their detention by three days. The parrots have been returned to their owners.
