Sources in the Jewish Home Party have taken issue with the words of Chairman Bezalel Smotrich of the National Union Party regarding the failure of the unity negotiations.
The sources said, "We informed Smotrich that we were ready to accept his demand," on fourth place on the list of Knesset candidates and first place in the rotation. They also said, "Smotrich claims that he required approval of the merger outline by our central committee and we only approved in principle that the chairman would lead to a merger to be approved later by joint central committees." The bottom line, the officials said: "There are no gaps. Apparently he got an offer that couldn't be refused from the New Right."
