Prof. Avi Simhon, chairman of the National Economic Council, said on Sunday that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is opposed to raising taxes.
"The debate between the Prime Minister and the staff of the Treasury over the expected deficit is mainly around the way it is handled. Netanyahu believes that there is no need to cut the deficit by raising taxes. In reviewing the list of government fees, we found in the statute book a fee on 'fishing in the Dead Sea,'" Simhon told Reshet Bet radio in an interview.
