Iranian President Hassan Rouhani wrote on Twitter, Monday evening, "Those who refer to the number 52 should also remember the number 290. IR655 Never threaten the Iranian nation."
Rouhani was responding to United States President Donald Trump's declaration of 52 targets in Iran if it should take relatiatory action against the US for its elimination of Revolutionary Guards General Qasem Soleimani. The other two numbers refer to the 290 people aboard Iran Air Flight 655, which was shot down by a US Navy ship in 1988.
