MK Moshe Gafni (United Torah Judaism), who heads the Knesset's Finance Committee, responded Monday morning in an interview with Kan to the wave of ministerial appointments Sunday, calling the move a "mistake".

"This was a mistake. What purpose does it serve? The new ministers won't be able to function. The ministries have no money, and the ministers won't be able to change anything, because people will say it is too close to the election. What is accomplished by doing this - irritating us in Degel Hatorah?"

On Sunday, Netanyahu announced that he had appointed Tzipi Hotovely (Likud) as Diaspora Minister, Yifat Shasha-Biton (Likud) as Minister of Welfare, Yitzhak Cohen (Shas) as Housing and Construction Minister, and David Bitan (Likud) as Agriculture Minister.
