A Knesset Spokesman (Tuesday) makes it clear that any convening of the committee chaired by MK Avi Nissenkorn (Blue & White) needs to receive the Knesset Speaker's approval, and that despite Nissenkorn's announcement of a scheduled meeting on Thursday, Edelstein has not yet received a request to approve such a meeting.
Earlier, Nissenkorn announced that the regular committee headed by him will convene this Thursday to discuss the possibility of establishing a Knesset committee during the 23rd Knesset.
The purpose of the move is to allow a hearing on the request for immunity that is expected to be filed by Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu tomorrow.
