Noble Energy has begun the process of nitrogen flushing, bringing up the first flow of natural gas from the well at sea to the Leviathan offshore rig.
The procedure is expected to continue until 3 pm. While the Environmental Protection Ministry has emphasized that there are no special guidelines for the public and that the impact on air quality in the coastal area is expected to be low, many citizens have left their homes for fear of hazardous-material emissions.
