The second Hanukkah candle was lit at the Western Wall of the Temple in Jerusalem on Monday evening, with the slogan "Shadows of Fire" - a tribute to Holocaust survivors, about 200 of whom participated, along with leaders of organizations representing survivors.

They were joined by Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem Aryeh Stern and Education Minister Rafi Peretz. Rabbi Peretz welcomed the survivors, saying "Jerusalem was a dream. Lighting Hanukkah candles near the Western Wall is a dream come true. An oil tin sealed with the seal of the High Priest defeats the Greeks. An oil tin sealed with the seal of the High Priest is each and every one of you. Every one of you has a holiness that nobody will succeed in taking. We are again lighting Hanukkah candles near the place of the miracle. Hanukkah is alive and well. May we merit to see the High Priest lighting the Menorah."
