Rabbis and enforcement officials from the Kashrut Department of the Chief Rabbinate, accompanied by police, raided, Sunday, a facility of restaurants operated by the Mitham Hagalil Kniot uVilui (Galilee Shopping and Entertainment Facility) Limited company via the Beit Chai nursery next to Kafr Kanna in the Galilee.
Following up on contact from consumers who had failed to find proper certification, rabbinate inspectors had found unsupervised produce, unkosher oil, pitot from a non-kosher bakery, suspected operation on Shabbat and no mashgiach (kashrut supervisor) on the premises. Under a court order, the signs proclaiming the eateries' kashrut were confiscated and fines were imposed.
