Chairman Yitzhak Herzog of the Jewish Agency for Israel expressed concern on Tuesday about the State of Israel's attitude to the problem of anti-Semitism.

Interviewed by public radio, the former Labor Party chairman said, "There is a severe plague of anti-Semitism in every corner of the planet, but it does not interest anyone because we are busy with the elections. I am not coming to create a doomsday atmosphere but we must be alert. Since the founding of the Jewish community in the US 260 years ago, Jews have never been murdered, except at this time - this is proof."
