It was announced on Monday that Israel's Rafael Advanced Defense Systems has joined forces with Germany's Atos GmbH to win a bid from the German army to demonstrate the use of unmanned aerial systems together with combat vehicles, to achieve a real-time, 3D dynamic situation picture for mobile battlefield reconnaissance.
As prime contractor for the “Glass Battlefield” study, Atos will provide project lead and integration while Rafel will provide the Fire Weaver advanced 3D many-to-many sensor-to-shooter system & BNET patented broadband IP spectrum-sensing SDR system for both air and land platforms. The study entails an annual demonstration experiment, running until 2023, which would then be followed by project planning until 2025.
