Chief Justice Esther Hayut has met with Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan and senior police officials about the need to fight against possession of weapons and illegal use of them in public in general and in the Arab sector in particular.
Participants in the meeting were unanimous that in order for the fight to bear fruit, a combined effort and collaboration between all the parties involved is required. However, it was emphasized that the sentencing in any proceeding is at the discretion of the sitting judge in accordance with the circumstances of the proceeding before him.
