The Likud party said on Thursday evening that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu supports the Likud negotiating team's proposal to Benny Gantz that he will waive a two-year continuous tenure as is customary, and will initially serve as Prime Minister in the first six months of a unity government.
"The additional year and a half of his term will be completed after the year and a half of Benny Gantz's term. The goal of this is preventing unnecessary elections and bring about the establishment of a broad unity government," the party said.
