The Committee for the Advancement of Preferred Housing Complexes decided, Wednesday, to submit a plan to expand the Haifa-area haredi-religious community of Rechasim.

The plan covers 1,400-dunam (350-acres) and includes 2,360 housing units that will be built in 5-7 storeys. That includes 250 units for sheltered housing, as well as for small housing units. It also includes 100 dunam/25 acres of public buildings as well as 150 dunam/37.5 acres of open space. Commercial space will take up 34,000 square meters with the development and expansion of a 193,000 sq.m. shared employment area for Rechasim and the Zevulun Region.
