Chairman Erez Kalfon of the Israel Professional Soccer Leagues has responded to fan violence during the Wednesday night match between Maccabi and Hapoel Tel Aviv by saying, "A group of criminals, from both sides, have decided to take the law into my hands."
Kalfon added, "I view these events very seriously, and expect the acting police commissioner to direct the police to investigate and locate these lawbreakers. I expect the courts to punish them with great severity."
