Moussa Dudin, who holds the prisoner portfolio in Hamas's Gaza government, claims that five Arab and western countries have tried to execute a prisoner exchange deal between Hamas and Israel, and that the last attempt was a short time ago, according to the Israel Public Broadcasting Corporation.

Dudin said there was no progress on the issue because Israel was not prepared to release prisoners who were released in exchange for soldier Gilad Schalit in 2011 and arrested again.
