Knesset Speaker Yuli-Yoel Edelstein called on party leaders, Thursday, to work together to prevent a third round of elections.
Upon receiving the mandate on behalf of the Knesset from President Reuben Rivlin, Edelstein said, paraphrasing late former prime minister Menachem Begin, "Elections are preventable. Unity is inevitable." Edelstein made it clear that going to another election campaign is hurting small businesses, farmers, parents, the elderly, the disabled and all the citizens of Israel, none of whom want elections.
