Danny Danon, Israel's ambassador to the UN, attacked democratic presidential candidate, Bernie Sanders, responding to Sander's proposal that some of the aid the US sends to Israel should go to Gaza.

In his speech at a World Zionist Organization event in New York, Danon said, "Maybe Mr Sanders never heard that Israel pulled out of Gaza in 2005, maybe he hasn't had a chance to visit Kerem Shalom crossing, where hundreds of trucks deliver humanitarian aid every day. Maybe he doesn't know about the terror tunnels."

"Sanders is suggesting that some US military aid to its most important ally in the middle east should be cut in order to give it to Hamas. A terrorist organization that celebrated 9/11. Let me promise you, we will never let that happen. We will fight these radical voices."
