The US has warned Egypt of possible sanctions over Cairo’s decision to proceed with a purchase of Russian warplanes, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.
According to the report, the warning came in a letter from Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Secretary of Defense Mark Esper urging Egypt’s defense minister to cancel a deal to buy Russian Su-35 warplanes.
