Channel 13 reporter Barak Ravid reported that a senior US official brushed off Israel's call for the US to end aid to the Lebanese army unless they work against Hezbollah's accurate missile factories.

Assistant US Secretary of State for Middle East David Shankar told reporters in Jerusalem that, contrary to the Israeli position, the Trump administration believes "aid to the Lebanese army is a good investment." He added: "We trust the Lebanese army and think they are important partners in the fight against Islamic extremists. We will consider Israel's request"

He did add that the $105 million aid program to the Lebanese army was "under review" and so far no aid including weapons have been transferred.
