Jewish Agency Chairman Yitzhak Herzog is scheduled to attend a ceremony this evening with United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas at at the synagogue in the German city of Halle, Germany, in memory of two people murdered outside the synagogue on Yom Kippur.

Herzog wrote on Twitter this morning: "This Saturday marks the 81st anniversary of Kristallnacht [Night of the Broken Glass -ed]," the pogrom against thousands of synagogues and Jewish-owned property throughout Germany which marked the start pf tje Holocaust of European Jews. Herzog added, "I opened the day in the Berlin Central Synagogue with Rabbi Ehrenberg of the synagogue, lighting a candle in prayer and saying Kaddish in memory of the six million. I am devoting the entire day to combating anti-Semitism and strengthening the community."
