Transportation Minister Bezalel Smotrich says he will propose that the government set up an external and independent commission of inquiry to investigate the conduct of police who interrogated state's witness Nir Hafetz, following the disclosure of contradictions in his testimony in corruption cases against Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.

Smotrich also demanded that Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit immediately remove the withholding of information "so that we can make sure the prime minister's investigations were conducted in order to clarify the truth and not the contrary."
