Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem Shlomo Amar has written a letter in which he urges women to come to pray in their section of the Western Wall of the Temple in Jerusalem at 6:45 am on Wednesday to counter the Women of the Wall group's observance of the new Hebrew month of Marcheshvan. Rabbi Amar wrote, "The goal is to prevent blasphemy in the very essence of prayer in peace and quiet and calmly."
Rabbanit Hannah Bakshi-Doron and several other women appealed to the rabbi of the Western Wall not to allow Women of the Wall to use loudspeakers in the women's section and accused authorities of discrimination that allows Women of the Wall into the Kotel area via the men's line without the strict inspections to which women are subject in their line.
