Israeli runner Maro Tafari finished fifth in the men's marathon in Frankfurt and set a new Israeli record of two hours, eight minutes, and nine seconds.
This is an improvement of almost two minutes compared to the previous Israeli record, which belonged to Girma Amra and stood at two hours, nine minutes, and 55 seconds.
