The Spanish government confirms that the remains of General Francisco Franco have been evacuated from the Valley of the Fallen Cemetery in Madrid and taken to a civil cemetery on the outskirts of the capital.
The state court rejected the family's petition against the eviction of the remains and ruled that there is no need to pay special respect to the person responsible for the murder of many citizens in Spain.
