US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo spoke with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.
According to a statement from the State Department, Pompeo reiterated US opposition to Turkey’s military offensive and underscored President Trump’s call for the Turkish Government to stop its invasion of northeast Syria and to return to a dialogue with the United States on security in northeast Syria. The Secretary previewed the upcoming high-level US delegation to Ankara led by Vice President Mike Pence.
